What a Night! Thank You for Joining the First Big Brue Place Quiz Night

On Saturday 19th July, over 40 neighbours and friends came together for the very first large event hosted by the Brue Place Community Hub Team – The Big Brue Place Quiz Night! What a fantastic evening it turned out to be!

Held at the Highbridge Social Club, we couldn’t have asked for better hosts. A huge thank you to the wonderful team there – from the welcoming bar staff to the behind-the-scenes helpers who ensured the evening ran so smoothly. Your hospitality helped make everyone feel right at home.

And of course, the night wouldn’t have been half as exciting without our brilliant quizmaster, Jack, who brought energy, humour and a touch of tech magic with the interactive Speed Quiz. Using phones to play along really amped up the fun – thank you, Jack, for creating such a buzz and keeping us all on our toes!

Behind the scenes, a massive shout-out goes to the Brue Place Community Hub Team: Annette, Georgia, Julia, Bev, and Jonathan – your teamwork, time, and effort truly made this event a reality. We’d also like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who kindly donated prizes – your generosity helped add that extra sparkle to the evening.

It was great to hear that some neighbours expressed interest in joining the admin team – we’re excited to welcome you on board in the future! And if you’re reading this and thinking, “I’d love to help out too,” please know that everyone is welcome to get involved in co-ordinating events for the development.

We’re already planning more community get-togethers, so your continued support is incredibly appreciated. Whether or not you were able to attend the quiz night, we’d love your feedback. We’ve put together a short, anonymous survey to help us improve and shape future events – even if you didn’t attend, your input is really valuable.

A Quick Reminder: Why Brue Place Community Hub Exists

The hub is all about building a friendly, supportive, and fun community as we all settle into our new homes. This space is your go-to spot for:

  • Connecting with neighbours

  • Organising local meet-ups (think dog walks, BBQs, quiz nights and more!)

  • Sharing tips and recommendations for the best local gems

  • Offering help or asking for a hand when needed

Whether you’re looking to make new friends, find a great takeaway, or borrow a drill – this is your space to feel connected and supported.

Thank you again to everyone who made The Big Brue Place Quiz Night such a brilliant success. Here’s to many more community moments together!
